MSGOP Spotlights Sandra McKiernon

Sandra Hubbard McKiernon is a proud Mississippi native currently residing on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Her interest in Republican politics was formally activated in 2011 when she became a member of the Jackson County Republican Women’s Club. Since then she has served as club secretary, Trent Lott Scholarship chairman, and club president.

At the state level, Sandra currently serves as Mississippi Federation of Republican Women’s (MFRW) Fourth Congressional District Director. Most recently, she served as convention chairman for the 2017 MFRW State Convention in Gulfport and was also elected to serve as a state delegate to the National Federation of Republican Women’s (NFRW) convention in Philadelphia, PA. She is a member of the Jackson County Republican Executive Committee and strongly supports the Mississippi GOP’s United Republican Fund (URF).

Throughout her Congressional District, Sandra leads seven MFRW clubs, and she plans to assist in starting several new organizations in counties that currently do not have one. A deep passion of hers is involving young people in the Republican Party which began in 2016 when Jackson County Republican Women started a Teenage Republican Club (TARS). As their sponsor, Sandra leads them to be strong, conservative Republicans and encourages them to utilize the many opportunities throughout the community.

Sandra believes it is vital that Republican women in Mississippi find ways to involve young women by providing leadership opportunities in Republican politics. She enjoys working with the Party to promote conservative policies and women running for office. To that end, 2017 has been a proud year for young Republican women with the election of Stacey Wilkes to the Mississippi House of Representatives for District 108 and Missy McGee to the Mississippi House of Representatives for District 102.
